Cohasset Elder Affairs enjoys a successful partnership with Launch, a community based work program for individuals with special needs. Each work crew is supervised by a job coach, and Launch participants provide support to CEA by packing and delivering Meals on Wheels, setting tables, washing dishes and performing special projects at our new center. In addition to helping out at CEA, Launch participants are available to provide landscape services to seniors, including small snow removal jobs such as sidewalks and paths, as well as spring cleanup. Estimates are required prior to service, and disposal of debris on site is a must.
Call Launch at 781-383-0902 for assistance with:
Shoveling walks/paths
Raking
Pruning
Edging
Wood stacking

Free assistance in preparing and electronically filing your 2015 Federal and State income tax returns is available at the Senior Center. The tax preparer volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS under the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) Program administered by AARP Tax-Aide. The Program is intended to help low-to-moderate-income taxpayers, especially those 60 and older. Volunteers retain the right to decline to prepare returns whose complexity would require more than a single one-hour appointment to complete.
Please call the Hingham Senior Center at 781-741-1458 to schedule an appointment.

Norwell Police Department has created a “Safe Exchange Zone” in the parking lot of the police and fire department Public Safety Complex located at 300 Washington St, which is under 24-hour video surveillance. This location can help online sellers and buyers to complete their transactions at a secure location. Whether you are buying or selling, please make sure to follow some basic safety tips: · Always meet at a public location and don’t go alone. · Meet during daylight hours. We welcome the public to use our designated parking area for a safe exchange, and hope that our location and surveillance will be a deterrent against fraud and theft. Remember – Safety first!
